Urgent Ecologies at Rietveld Academy is an initiative that places environmental responsibility at the centre of learning, institutional practice, and decision-making. It supports experimental approaches to how space and resources are shared and managed, encouraging collective cultivation and student-led projects. The programme advocates critical reflection by connecting creative practice with ecological thinking, social accountability, and historical awareness. Through public programmes, research-led workshops, and interdisciplinary forums, it brings together students, staff, and invited contributors to address climate challenges, examine material lifecycles, and imagine more regenerative institutional futures. As part of our wider program, Urgent Ecologies will host this intimate gathering, opening space for dialogue, reflection, and the shaping of future directions. More information will follow.
